Decal application
Just a word of advice to anyone contemplating putting incorrect vinyl decals onto a car that they later sell to me:
Please do not epoxy decals onto the car, vinyl decals already stick quite well to paintwork without using very strong glue that lifts the paint off the bodywork.
Thank you.

Dare to show us photos?
I need to see the horror.

I feel your pain,I did a rally a few years ago and placed the vinyl event sticker on the engine lid. It looked cool so I left it there for a couple of months, when I removed it, the paint came with it. I think heat activates a stronger bond between the two materials.

That sucks the big one.
I lost a chunk of paint from my left front guard pulling off an event decal after a tarmac rally one year. I suspect the quality of the paint work prep was not quite what it should have been....
You can buy glue remover if there are any left to remove but not sure what it would do to paint?

Unfortunately I took no pics during the removal process, I was otherwise engaged. However, after 2 tedious days of scraping with a razor blade, wet-sanding, buffing with rubbing compound, acetone and thinners, I got all the decals and glue off with only a few patches of paint damage. I temporarily touched that up with white rust-oleum until I can locate a bodyshop that will be able to do a permanent repair for not too many of my finest greenbacks.
I may now have to replace the old Carrera decals with new Porsche decals to cover the repair.
