Specifications /carb specifics/H1 upgrade service bulletins 911/912
The first one covers specifications in fairly great detail, it is 15/67, five pages all shown below. After the cover page there is a page listing specs/types/numbers for 1964-1968 cars, the next page gives engine designations, (901/08, anyone), specs, description and remarks. After that you have to put on your reading glasses whether you usually need them or not, it is a transmission chart, it gives all gear ratios and what they are called, example 11:34 is “A”, transmission numbers, and what car they came in. Next is a page of carburetor specs, the type, what car they came in, and what all their, (the carburetor’s) specs are. I’m not sure what the purpose of this was, but it’s got a lot of information in it. $100
Halogen headlight conversion. I assume this to mean H1’s. This is 16/67, four pages, it says that as of mid September halogen headlights will be standard in 911S’ where it is legal, and then it goes on to tell you how to install them in older cars. You had to hit the headlight bucket with a hammer. It tells step by step how to do it, ten steps, on one page, has a template that you can cut out and place in your headlight bucket so that you know what to hammer on, and has a page with photographs of figures referenced in the instructions. $100
WOW! The Porsche factory advised that if a part does not fit get a bigger hammer!
I always thought the German engineers would design a tool to modify a part to fit..
But they are using the old fashion backyard mechanics trick!
If is does not fit you need to find a bigger hammer!:p
