I've been using Mobile 1 for years in my 70T with a 3.2 short stroke with carbs. Next oil change I was going to try Royal Purple. Any comments, advice? Thank you.

I use Brad Penn 20W-50 "racing oil". It has all the Zinc and phosphorous necessary for our cars and is a nice thick base stock that last a long time without thinning out like Castrol.
Plus 1 for brad penn
Valvoline VR1 20/50 Racing formula, silver bottle. Regularly goes on Sale at Oreily's or Autozone for 2 bucks off.....check the ads.
if you start with synthetic.. changing to another synthetic is not the worst in problems... just don't go back to fossil.
+1 to Brad Penn
I also have used Kendall GT1
additionally, I've heard good things about Swepco 306
You might enjoy reading the MASSIVE oil thread over on PP if you have the stomach for the level of detail contained.
I was told by the distributor in Worcester, Ma. that there is no longer (as of a year and a half) a 20-50 "racing oil" # 7119-S.
They only make Penn Grade 1 oil # 7119 which has 0.1 - 1.1 percent zinc and p - dodeylphenol .01 - .10
Cant remember the #'s for the 7119 - S stock.
Must be somewhere on that Pelican thread.
I think you were "told" wrong by your dealer. I just bought 2 cases of Brad Penn 20-50 semi synthetic racing oil and they weren't the last two cases in the warehouse.
