1968 SWB coupe
I looked at an 68 Coupe on Saturday, its for sale by a local guy here in the Bay Area. I've been looking for a car for my 15 year old, I think I'm going to buy him a Boxster though.
It's a pretty good car, would make the best basis for a racer or an RGrupper, 2.0, original color of Tangerine, has AC and nice 5 1/2 x 15 Fuchs wheels, the floors are solid although they do have surface rust on the inside, front pan has been replaced and looked like they did a good job, jacking points OK, doors need replacing both sides, hoods both good, couldn't find any accident damage-down side it's a Sportomatic. Motor runs but shows low oil pressure, doesn't make any horrible noise nor smoke heavily, could be a faulty sensor. The fact that the motor case was magnesium was why I didn't buy it.
Seller is asking $8500

I took some pics and will post them later when I can upload them to a webhost

Photo report
I received a bunch of photos and talked to the seller. Brian, nice guy. This is a U.S. 911L that is relatively unmolested. That being said, it needs a total restoration as, no doubt, there is rust lurking beyond that which is plainly visable in the doors and on other spots. The front suspension pan was just the first to totally go. The car needs to be completely taken apart and a large amount of metal work needs to be done.
Too bad, it is not the SWB coupe I'm looking for.
