all;
solid muffler purchased about 10 years ago.
1) shouldn't there be a part number & manufacturer ID somewhere on this ? I can't find anything.
2) does the angle of the output indicate 911 or 914/6 ?
all help appreciated.
TIA

Hey, Jerry . . .
Dunno what is, but --- from the downward angle of that ausspuff . . . it sure doesn't look like an Early 911
One of the things that bugs me about a lotta otherwise-nicely-done cars is how few of them actually have their tail pipe popping-out in the right place. I know-I know --- Real Deal mufflers are hard to source/notta Big Deal/get-a-life/etc-etc . . . fine-fine/I get it
Still. How tough is it to go to a Muffler/Exhaust/Fab Guy, have him saw off the tail pipe . . . then re-attach it at the right angle? I mean, people drop mortgage-size payments on all manner of out-of-sight nonsense to get 'that vintage feel' . . . and yet will still stick an directally disfunctional muffler right out there --- in my eye!

Whew! . . . anyway . . .
. . . 914-6?
. . . zat a Porsche?
:p
I don't know if these pictures will help but they are of the original muffler (still serviceable) that was on my 69S when it was delivered new in March 1969.Attachment 351683Attachment 351684Attachment 351685 There is no part number or any kind of identifying numbers or letters stamped on it.

The difference in the two mufflers was the angle and length of the two input pipes, i think the 914 one sat higher,,,,but not 100 % sure.
