Another fun one........
Will be interesting to see what it goes for. A buddy of mine (Pat Lott) drove it in the Daytona 24 in '84. I remember sipping coffee with Pat during that night to stay awake and warm.
It will be interesting to see what the value gap is between a period-built GTO-spec "RSR" with legitimate history relative to a factory 460/560 '74/'75 RSR. Any guesses? There are some really nice period "built" cars out there that were top competitors' rides that fall into this category. I would also like to know some more detail on the suspension, motor components, wheels, etc. Is anyone familiar with this car?
Lee, I was thinking exactly the same thing about value. There were so many built-up "specials" back then and no one really paid much attention to what was the real deal or not. I owned a real RSR but mostly drove a built up 935, JLP-02, a 935 built up special by John Paul Racing. When I bought the RSR, it didn't matter to me whether it was a real one or not. It becomes a bit hazy about what is or was really "real". Wayne Baker took a 935, made it into what was called a 934 when he won the GTO Championship in '83. Then, he made it back into a 935 for the '84 season. So, in reality, he won the GTO championship in a modified 935, not a 934. Funny how things get termed a certain way back then when it didn't matter and now that values have soared, it does matter. Quite a few people were making their version of race cars back then, both RSRs and 935s. Bob Aiken's 935s along with John Paul's versions to name a few. I'm sure there were others, but who knows for sure. Very few people knew or cared what was factory built in those days.

Interesting backmarker history...
Not sure it's worth as listed here:

Would be nicer if it looked as raced...

This same car sold on Ebay several months ago for around 120K. It was discussed in an earlier thread.
This time it sold for $185K...
Anyone know what the chassis number was? Thanks.
