Real ones are hard to come by......they have a double flange.
I recently saw a photo of a replica that might be ok.....but it was hard to tell. It looked to have the double flange.
It was one of those Renn companies but I can't remember which one.
As stated on the site Rennline's RSR replica bar was just redesigned to add the double flange as well as other gussets and reinforcement.
Thanks Andrew......I guess I wasn't dreaming.
Looks like a nice piece.....
Thanks Andrew.
That's the one.
Real RSR engine mount had 6 holes on each side, so the Rennline is not an exact replica.
Look elsewhere for weight savings. After hole drilling and adding required reinforcement along the edges, it's a wash, but it does look racy. Using Ti would be significant.

How about a replacement for that big hunk of stamped steel plate that connects the bar to the motor. That is a chunk of mass right there...

One would have to like the look of such a peice. I agree in the sense that there is hardly any weight savings over the original, let alone the Rennline version. I did not notice the difference until A911s mentioned it; here is a link to a 911SC/RS engine photo from another thread showing the factory peice.
It would be interesting to see if anyone has moddified their front engine mount in the name of weight savings. It may be possible to use aluminum or go the Swiss cheese route...
