Blaupunkt radio brackets and installation

Hi all-

It appears that Blaupunkt's were installed using two clips that are a bit pricey. Are there alternative methods of mounting a Frankfurt? Has anyone fabricated some?

I am approaching dash assembly on my '69 and appreciate the help and advice in advance.

I never imagined that Blaupunkt mounting clips would turn into such a hot button issue!
Man this world is crazy.

I think something like this would work, kind of like the Beckers were installed. The bracket on the left goes on first then radio slides in the opening from behind and the left bracket is pushed up against the inside of the dash opening then the right bracket is installed from outside the opening and tightened down with a nut. Then just install faceplate and knobs.

You could also Mfg, some thin metal brackets for each stem and pull the radio tight up against the dash opening and attached the radio to the front wall from behind at the center screw with Plumbers tape (heavy metal strip with multiple holes).

Are these brackets only needed for earlier cars? I have a 73.5 911 would I need radio brackets or will the fixing to the front plate and rear fixing be enough?

I'm amazed that with all the other it's and pieces registry members have recreated to such a high standard, these little clips aren't among them. If they are, I haven't seen them and the price on originals doesn't reflect that they exist.
