yup, the antenna
I need an antenna key does anyone have one they'd like to part with? Gracias.
Specifically, a Bosch antenna. The Hirschmann key is different.
I know Woody's Custom Shop in Costa Mesa has Hirschmann keys. They might well have Bosch keys, too.
Aha! When I bought my car about 3 years ago it came with two of these "keys" but I never knew what they were for; I almost threw them away! So how do they work on the antenna?
That little black cap makes the key unnecessary. To protect your antenna from vandalism you take off the black cap then push it all the way down. Then, to pull it out, you hook the prongs on those antenna keys into slots in the top of the antenna to pull it out. I recommend you wait until you lose the little black cap.
That's assuming--of course--that it's a Bosch antenna (it looks a bit different from a Hirschmann).
Here's a Hirschmann antenna key (it's the little cross-shaped key on top):

And here it is inserted in a Hirschmann antenna:
Attachment 318829
The Hirschmann key has to be turned after inserting it in the antenna top.
