looking at a few cars - pricing is a bit perplexing - for essentially the same car re condition etc. I am encountering pricing between $90K to $400K - I can understand 10-20%+/- for particulars but 400% +/-

wow
'77s are still non-inter-cooled 3 liters --- + called Turbo Carrera
'78s + '79s are inter-cooled 3.3 liters . . . just Turbo
. . . very different cars --- IMO
thanks for that - will do some more due-diligence
1. A decent 77 driver is $140-190k- turbo carrera name only applied to US spec car, ROW cars were turbo's , Mohr has a low miles 77 with wrong wheels and speedo for $395k, Canepa had a spectacular low mileage original car for sale last summer, ask was $345k.
2. 78-79 driver's are $70-100k right now - I just sold a very nice 79 for $88k, seemed too cheap but I guess that is where market is - at least on pelican & rennlist
I'll agree with Rick the 3L's are very different from the 3.3's - lighter and a little more rev happy, I've owned two 76's one 77 and three 79's, I'm hanging on to one 76 & the 77. The pricing is all over the map, original low mileage cars are always the most expensive of course, modded ones are worth considerably less, a lot of these there were rode hard and hung up wet.
