400mm 'thick grip' RB steering wheel

400mm leather steering wheel. dated 12/71. part number 901 347 081 20 RB. this is the thicker grip wheel as compared to the '00' and '10' wheels. also stamped 'RB'. leather is somewhat stiff and has some surface cracking/checking. took it in to a saddle shop and they said it could be re-conditioned. some stitching is gone. with some work the original leather could be saved and re-stitched, but would never be perfect. $325 shipped. thanks, Don.

I have seen this style of stamping before and never understood so what is the RB stamping and why the different stamping to normal wheels?
