Never mentioned that I had been a car audio guy mid 90-2006.
Due to the cabin and possible locations of the speakers in the old Elfer I always used other cars to win German and European IASCA SQ championships.
Well what should I say. I lowered my requirements but I was never happy with the result of any of the car audio installations in a LWB. So I removed all such things like speaker in door, parcel shelf, underdash or kickpanels when I bought a new car by end of the first day. So most of my cars have actually no radio at all or only a fake faceplate an antenna for met the CoA.
Last weekend my oldest son convinced me that he would be even happier on a long trip with one of our cars, when he can listen to his favorite radio play.
I grabbed a new dash speaker from Königs, that I bought years ago, from my attic and let the speaker run in overnight with some music, bold it to the original place in the dash and connected the speaker to a Becker Europa. My son was happy, I was happy that my son was happy. But the sound was……
Speaking to Mr. Königs he told me that I should better use the Blaupunkt Frankfurt, because he has optimized or chosen this speaker to work with this radio.
Turned the Frankfurt on. And the sound turned me on.
This speaker works perfect in the original speaker location with the Frankfurt
