Can someone please tell me what the best way is to remove the rattle can paint from
my frosted finish spokes without damaging the factory finish?
I pressure washed them with a high p.s.i. nozzle first,
then rubbed Easy Off oven cleaner on them.
No Dice. Still Ugly.
Possibly I'm too impatient and didn't wait long enough before removing the easy off?
I was concerned with removing too much.

Thank goodness the Easy Off didn't go through the paint!!!
Easy Off or other oven cleaners contain lye and will ruin the factory anodized finish...
Who told you Easy Off was a good idea???

Paint remover. Very carefully watch and don't let it dry out or get too hot...remover can stain anodize if not careful.
Easy off in the old formula was what I use for removing anodize when I started in my garage.....

Chuck: No one did. I ass-u-med that since it works to remove nasty paint from car bodies that it'd be o.k. to use it on the wheels. (I wiped it on with a towel and wiped it off after several minutes
Harvey, what type of paint remover do you suggest? Jasco? mineral spirits? Lacquer thinner? Enamel reducer?.

I'd start asking someone who is actually anodizing things. Those people most probably know the "things" harming their work (brake-fluid & Easy-off & stuff). IMHO there are certain works you can save on DIY and others you get charged for doing exactly this...
Even in case I would be able to professionally give an advice I would be careful to do so without knowing whether the rim is damaged, been given " treatment" or elsewise being manipulated with.
Do yourself a favour and send the rims to an expert and most probably be charged with an estimate.
Welding through a panel that can be replaced with any sheet of metal is one thing. Ruining a forged rim that went out of production could end-up in an irrecuperabile loss is something completely different...

Rattle can paint will come off with lacquer thinner, and will not remove true factory finish. As always test a small area for desired results. Rob
Chuck, the paint that came off came off fairly easily with the Pressure washer, it was also chipped in a few spots.
I'll post a photo in the morning.
Wheel pics: They don't look powder coated to me, it chips off too easily.
