He meant 40cm is all. 400mm is how we usually measure them here, but to each their own.
That might be a bit of hard find, I think there is a company who remade them as I can get them new, but they don't look quite original to me so tough to tell.

What are you looking to spend on this? Google the part number and I think you will see the reason for the question. :)
Thanks for all your messages! Which is the more rare variant: the leather one or the ebonite version?
Goes both ways. Yes, as Jim said, original leather wheels are very hard to find. But I can have one restored to a very high standard in a week by multiple vendors. Not so with an ebonite wheel. It took me more than a year to find a near-perfect ebonite wheel for my 72T. Virtually everything you see is chipped or cracked.
As for rarity? Neither is particularly rare.
Thanks for your answers. Someone told me: why would you have a “plastic” wheel on such an expensive car if you can have a leather one.... Was a leather wheel an option or .... and what would be the price for an excellent restored leather wheel?
I have a 380mm VDM wheel part# 91434780610 date code 11/69. The leather is in excellence condition soft and supple with horn pad. This wheel was off my 914-6 and only used for about a year and put in climate controlled storage as I installed a 300mm Race Mark wheel. Note this wheels part number was used on 914-6 and 1973 911 Carrera RS. Any interest let me know. Thanks Rick
