1972 911s RSR John Paul Sr

Hi,

hope you guys can help us out. We just bought a very nice 1972 911s in Belgium, Europe. It is in Europe since 2014, bought in Miami at Vertex Auto Sales by the previous owner. When he bought it he was told the car once belonged to John Paul Sr (1st owner?), John Paul Jr confirms via Facebook it was his dad's car. It was delivered in a color to sample, olive gold metallic. Part of the paint is still original. Paul Sr converted the car to RSR spec with the help of Brumos (we where told). My brother posted a thread with the chassis number 9112300820.
Does anybody knows this car, has more info on it? It would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

'. . . Purchased new at the legendary Brumos Porsche dealership by American race car driver John Paul Sr., this Paint to Sample Champagne Metallic 1972 911 S was almost immediately converted by Brumos to a 2.7 MFI. Shortly after in 1975, JLP Racing carried out an RSR conversion with a 3.2 L short stroke MFI engine and other custom racing upgrades. After John Paul Sr. was imprisoned during the 1980’s, this car was reportedly seized and sold before being rediscovered and acquired by the current owner in a modified state in Miami some years ago. Having since been mostly reverted back to its custom JLP specifications with a newly built 3.2 L motor, this incredibly unique Porsche 911 S now being offered for auction by its seller in Belgium with approximately 2k miles on the engine.

This 911 S was ordered in the rare Paint to Sample color of Champagne Metallic (514-9-3). The seller indicates that the car has been previously refinished, although it currently shows to be in very nice condition with some charming patina on the roof and hood (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). JLP Racing had converted this 911 to RSR specs with steel fender flares and a distinctive IROC tail. This 911 rides on 9” and 11” RSR-style Fuchs wheels which were widened and custom backdated to a 66mm center by a specialist in Germany.

Inside, this 911 S features a black interior with Recaro seats, a Raid steering wheel and later-model instrument gauges. The power windows are reported to hesitate intermittently upon operation, however, all other accessories and electrical components are said to be working properly.

Discovered by the seller in a considerably modified state, this 911 S was mostly reverted back to its JLP specifications with the installation of a newly built 3.2 L short-stroke mechanical fuel injection (MFI) flat-six engine. A 915 5-speed manual transmission has also been equipped which features an oil cooler and limited slip differential. A custom Ohlins 934 RSR-style coilover suspension system was installed by Madeno Racing under the current ownership, although the genuine Porsche 934 suspension originally fitted by JLP will be included as well. This 911 S showcases the following list of performance features:

The freshly built 3.2 L motor is said to have been fully balanced and blueprinted, and the seller indicates this 911 to be in exceptional running order with approximately 2k miles of use on the engine.

Rich in automotive history, this car was also reportedly visible during a short scene in the 1981 Cannonball Run movie as it was partially filmed at JLP Racing.
