Happy to have acquired a 73T with all RS look, except for front bumper!! Options for new front RS bumper seem to be:
1.OEM fiberglass
2.Aftermarket fiberglass
3.Getty Carbon-have called, emailed over ten times and no responses!!
4.FVD Carbon/Kevlar
Anyone have any recommendations?

Nice. That looks great! I kind of like it as is.
Think you are wise to seek balance. The original RS aero work found the car was more balanced and had higher top speed with the front bumper rear duck tail design combo they ended up with ( as used on most examples other than France whose regulators insisted on the S front bumper) or the purchasers who specified other because they liked the look and and thought pretty better than effective I suppose. Less than optimal front /rear balance in some situations may give light / unstable feeling front — not really great.
It is reasonable assumption Porsche did aero evaluation for a reason not just for the go faster appearances of a spoiler —
although the aftermarket kits soon followed.
Got a graphic somewhere probably RS book that shows various combos reproduced from German publication who ran independent tests iirc.
I have a spare but genuine front but it’s in U.K. and not really for sale.
Sorry no input on source of one but suggest going for a oem or aftermarket glassfibre design that is similar to factory final combo as they fought hard to get rear ducktail past regulators in Germany arguing for benefits of because it paired well with the front — prevailed eventually by convoluted route to work around the reservations regulators had on rear design motorcyclist crash safety. All seems to suggest they considered it in fibreglass a good enough solution for the then top of range model

The S was available to the factory in 72. In fact early shots often show the RS with the S spoiler but they elected to go with an RS pair in the end for some reason. Could be styling decision but with all the efforts they put into aero research for the RS choosing it just to look pretty would seem odd. Can’t see them picking an inferior front performer vs existing S for the RS final specification. Particularly when it was homologation platform for factory racing; why would they compromise on that model? Equal but with a visual flair I’d buy that but worse? I’ve read factory designer Lapine wasn’t a fan of some of the RS aero from an aesthetics perspective but think that was the rear. Below is the original graphic summarising the test of the configurations that the German magazine chose to do as an in depth piece of the Carrera RS road-test when new. I have a vague recollection the RS might have been the first road-car to feature a prominent rear spoiler which might explain why they took time to drill down test something we might view as routine today. However don't think this an S vs RS front comparison in controlled conditions afaik. Seems with or without F/r combos. Graphic is striking which is why I was recalling the top speed also balance and read summary of this which discussed improving front lightness/ stability.

Of those the magazine elected to test the Carrera RS combo was adjudged by them the best but haven’t read the full original German text only as summarised in various places like RS Book.
My logic in reply to OP would be why second guess the factory final spoiler combo solution of 73 given their resources and data from aero tests — especially when rest of OP car apes an RS aerodynamically. That way getting a known proven pairing
No biggie either way frankly and it is owner’s prerogative but he did ask and from question appears to be minded to change the existing set up.

PS aero is interesting and maybe something we now take for granted in road cars. I recall Audi retrofitting ( at their cost?) rear ducktail thing when there were concerns with their TT car — that was around late nineties which is shocking that car from massive VAG could get that far. Judging on face value from what was reported was probably accepted to be an aero flaw. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.m...s-audi-tt/amp/ Road car aero not really something the average motorist can expect to get into real depth on but this little Audi example gives pause for thought even at nineties TT road car speed. Probably not too different performance envelope from a 911 of circa 73.
