Ratty 420 or 400 mm Wood Steering Wheel

You know that wheel you’re hanging on to, with thoughts of restoring someday, that you’ve had for 20 years with all the cracks and missing large portions of the wood? I’m interested in buying one to have restored. I need to make some modifications to a wooden wheel for a handicapped person (me) and I don’t want to start with a $900 repop to de-construct, or worse, an original, restored wheel. As long as the metal doesn’t have any large chunks missing, the wood could be almost non existent.

Yes, that is correct. I want the metal hoop on which the wood (or bakelite) wheel is based. If you know of one, please let me know.
