Micro Switch help
I have read a number of threads on this.
When I follow Mr Mayo's instructions for my 1971S MFI, I turn the microswitch screw down until I hear the switch click. Then I turn it one more complete turn. If I do this the car will start and die when I lift off the accelerator. If I hold the switch down it does the same thing - it kills the engine. Any thoughts?

It sounds like the speed relay isn't working. I assume when you take the microswitch out of the circuit it idles normally? The speed relay needs to be replaced or rebuilt.

Let me try that. Thanks Ed!

You can open the speed relay and check the components. Usually the transistor leads are rusted. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can easily replace them -- this fixed the speed relay on my Targa.
