1969S wiring query
I am just starting to sort out my loom which is rather sad but salveagable.
There is a sleeved tube with three wires (pictured), red with black stripe, brown with white stripe and white with green stripe which is taped to the main harness which runs front to back through the tunnel - it has been cut off both ends - it looks factory fitted to me.
I am suspecting its for the optional rear wiper which was fitted from new. Is this the case? If not, what might it be?
I can't see any reference to a rear wiper on the 1969S wiring diagram so is there a later diagram which I could use to work out where the wires go, and also there is no reference anywhere i can see for a dashboard switch in the driver's manual - any ideas what the switch is and where it goes....
Any ideas gratefully received.

I think the red & brown are for the wiper, and the white for the rear fog, but don't have my diagrams available now.

I agree with Dave, but i never have seen it in this combination. The tunnel harness for the rear wiper (brown-white and red-black) is always separately taped to the tunnel harness. The white-green is normal already included in the tunnel harness and runs to the 6 pole connector, from there to the (69 only) engine bay harness (left rear light)

Thank you gentleman....strange that there is an extra wire in there but it confirms my theory about the wiper - now to find out where the switch is on the dash - if anyone out there has a rear wiper, please do let me know....
Thanks

your car was a sports purpose one, and from what I remember the rear wiper was supplied unfitted in a box
Given that it may have been possible that to "save weight" they only used one tube of wires instead of the two in production cars?

Thanks Hugh....you are of course quite correct and it could well be something like that....the wiper was certainly fitted when it did the 1969 Circuit of Ireland a month or two after delivery. The wiring is an unholy mess and I have only just started unpicking it - I am sure I will be able to salvage it but its not a pretty sight.
I hope to get the shell back in a month or two which will make more sense of the fitting up. Have you ever had a car with a rear wiper and if so, can you recall where the switch went. It is interesting that some optional extras are listed on the wiring diagram but not this one. It's a fun process working out what is what - a bit daunting until you start and just work your way through it.....
Pic of the car late last year to show progress - it's still all very exciting....
