I happened to turn right behind this car as it was driving up a hill near where I live. Wanted to give the driver a thumbs-up, but he turned onto another arterial before I could pull up beside him. 911-T Targa. Almost certainly 1970 or 1971 from what I saw, so carbureted. It's been pretty hot (by our standards), the last week. Don't know if the driver was away from the car when the fire broke out or if he didn't have an adequate fire extinguisher. Either way, it really sucks.
Hopefully, the owner kept his insurance up to date and will be covered, but that doesn’t mitigate the pain of watching his treasured possession go up in flames. Perhaps some parts from the front half can be salvaged.
