Looking to send my speedo off to get repaired since the odo and mph were working but quit in the last 20 miles. Speedo cable isn't broken and is fully seated at trans and in speedo. Is there a more elegant way to disconnect the 2 black/blue and white/green wires from the speedo than cutting them and adding spade connectors back? Would also love a link to show how to correct photo rotation issues since vBulletin and iPhones don't play well together.

I'm learning never to assume anything. Got the speedo out and tested it with a drill and it works perfectly including the odometer (and resetting it). The odometer cable is seized. Where do you guys like to go for speedo cables?
Porsche used to sell just the inner, might see if they still do.
Try a speedometer shop. I can remember a small shop in Pasadena (CA) that had all different sizes of the internal wire, and they would cut it to length and put the ends in a small mandrel and hit it with a hammer to make it square to fit into the speedo.

Pelican Parts. If you have an angle drive off the transmission get that and the boot too. I had the parts here but it's in a shop now for some motor out work. Decided to have them do it. There's a shop on the SF Peninsula that does the work also.
Not to hijack but is there a source for the non-spade-connector early light sockets (for a 67) mentioned and pictured in the first post?
Specifically, I actually need just the inner "nub" that crimps onto the wire and then sits down inside of the bulb "can" - alternatively, anyone have a fix or replacement for just the little nub? I would also like to avoid switching to a later version with the spade (999 632 007 00)

Spoke with North Hollywood and Palo Alto Speedo. North Hollywood price was steep and Palo referred me to Deluxe Speedo out of Denver. $120 shipped and it arrives tomorrow
