RS Question
One for the RS owners.
Since the dish on the RS steering wheel is shallower than the standard 400mm wheel did the factory add a spacer to bring it out to the same distance from the dash as the standard wheel or did you RS drivers learn not to hit your fingers on the dash while turning?
I'm curious since the factory cared greatly for control ergonomics.
For the short of arm but, long of leg guys this might have sucked without a spacer.

I'd have asked the question over on the RS registry board but, you guys never talk over there.
Will you have to kill me if you tell me? ;)

Sorry the RS Registry message board was never started (My web designer added it without a real need with the S baord) besides we are all over hear anyway. The RS wheel IS close to the dash. There is no spacer. This could be why many cars run the 300 mm Prototipo. I have an RS wheel if you need one. Hope this helps.
Best,
Don

Thanks Don,
That's interesting that they didn't space the wheel out.
I've got a RS wheel that I'm restoring and I was playing with it on the car. I had the old Racemark that was on the car when I got it, stock 400mm leather wheel, and my new Prototipo and was comparing the fit, view and such. The difference of the RS wheel was very noticable at first but, I got used to it quickly and it triggered my curiosity. I'm of the short of leg, long of arm type and it really helps my position(for a change  ). My second fave was the Proto although I found the new grip very slick. It was a toss up for third. My old Raid has a great vintage patina and feel although it takes a bit more muscle.
Cheers,
