I`m looking at a 1968 soft window targa. Same owner since 1970. Rebuilt original engine with 25K on it. Engine was rebuilt with S cams.
Car is all there and has no body issues.Rust in the battery box.Car was repainted about 20 years ago original color. Paint is very poor. Has deep-six wheels instead of the 5.5`s
What is a fair price?

Is this an S, L, T, or Normal?
It`s a nornal. Engine was rebuilt to the S specs about 8-9 years ago. Engine has about 25K on it now. Car has sat unused for about 6 years. Once we got the fule lines and the jets cleaned out it ran real strong.
The car will need a full resto but all the parts are there and all the chrome and stainless parts are still very nice. Interior is dirty but not torn.

I can only give historical perspective. I bought a '68L swt in 1991 from seller who also owned since '70. I paid $7500. Engine also had about 25K. Front pan had been replaced. I thought it to be rust free otherwise. Oops, hadn't carefully examined under weather strip on door lockposts. $3300 later it had new longs. and lockposts. I did remainder of work myself, strip to bare metal, repaint in original light ivory, new correct carpet from Autos International, had front seats rebuilt and covered with correct black leather. R. Wood refinished the 5.5's. Top and rear window were excellent. Total expenditure was about $18,000 including purchase. Sold in 1997 for $12,500. It was not easy to find a buyer. Clearly car would be worth at least $20,000 in today's market. Hope this helps a little.
