911 & Porsche world ran a photo supplement in it's latest issue that included this photo that looks to have been taken in Copenhagen, DK.
It's one of 3 polished stainless bodied '67s. The other two were destroyed in crashes. Anyone that's known the heartbreak of losing a car (or a shipload of money) to rust will especially appreciate this car. What might the value of this car be?? :confused: :eek:

I think I have an old PORSCHE PANORAMA issue about with an article about the all stainless 911...Porsche's experiment for a "long life" car...

I seem to remember that Porsche also built a high bumper version of the rostfrei 911 (Turbo?), or is that just plain wrong?
I'd bet if the remaining stainless bodied car ever showed up on the market, that Jerry Seinfeld would bid $1 more than anyone, regardless of price. If I had his cash, I would too. Sky's the limit on unique cars, just look at the price on that concept car at B-J.
Yes the article is from the mid to late 1970's. I think I posted something about this on Pelican at one time.
I didn't know that any of these cars were owned by someone other than the factory....
You could always make your own - you just need some stainless steel, the tooling, and a factory.... I bet Seinfeld could afford it...
I just burned my eyeballs out, reading the contents page of Panos from Sept. '66 thru Dec. '78...then gave up. Could have sworn I read something on the stainless car, but damned if I can find it now. The Nov. '75 issue had an article announcing the hot galvanizing to begin with the '76 models...
I remember reading about it. It may be in Excellence was expected. Anyway with stainless being as hard as it is the fenders were made of numerous pieces welded together. Cool...

:) Paul, I just spend some time going through a smaller pile of '60s Panos too and didn't find it either. But, I had a GREAT time looking. The want ads make me crazy though; cheap, cheap, cheap by today's prices.
