Important message...
After our board meeting this morning The Early 911-S Registry is going to try a couple new things on this message board…
One, will be a welcome note and request for membership, via a link to our membership page, when registering to this board. We haven’t done this before, but we now know that a more direct connection between this message board and our web site… AND of course our club is needed.
Second, is a request for all message board contributors to please put their Early 911-S Registry Membership Numbers in their ‘signature’.
It's our hope that we keep this great informational resource a voluntary, democratic, and self regulating entity. We discussed other options: ‘Pay as you go’ was one… Having our web master reach into your registration information and create a user name icon for those who are Registry members was another…
We decided, at this point, those options were not the way to go … We realize, at this point, that our particular community doesn’t need clandestine tactics to bolster our membership.
As you all know this message board will only exists if the Registry is a viable, healthy, and non-struggling club.
When the paid Registry membership is still hovering between 450 - 500, and the registered message board members has just broke 1600 the discrepancy is too obvious to ignore.
So please, Registry members post your Early-S Registry Membership Numbers proudly … Let’s see if minimal intervention and self regulation will do the trick. Let’s hope those message board contributors who are not Registry members will want to join in the common interest.
This, or a variation of this, will be the welcome note posted on the message board registration page….
Welcome…

Sounds good Chuck. I was thinking of starting a membership drive thread after reading your last note on this subject.
I think we all look forward to this lighting a fire of support under some folks! :)

Chuck, make sure everyone knows that one does NOT have to own an early S to join.

I hear'ya Milt...
The club has evolved... To all things Early 911
Below has been on our web site's Welcome Page for quite some time...
You do not need to own an early 911S to join!
Since most of the information we publish pertains to all early 911 Porsches, we welcome owners of any early 911, including the 911T, 911E, 911L and the rare 911R, 911S/T and 911RS. In fact, you don't even need to own a Porsche to be part of our group. All you need is an appreciation for the car and a desire to communicate with like-minded individuals. If this sounds like something you might enjoy, please contact us,

Sounds great Chuck. Hope it works...

Thank You for doing it this way. I have not registered or paid, and will do so now, since I seem to frequent this board fairly often.

I am afraid that I have been one of the guilty ones who've frequented this board but have never become a member - I will address this matter today.
This board is one of the (if not the) most valuable assets on the internet to early 911 owners worldwide.
One small suggestion though - would it not be possible to pay membership fees via paypal (or carry out the whole process of membership registration/renewal online) ?
