Just picked up the new solo release from Rob Dickinson aka Rob the Rock Star. You saw Robs 69 hot rod in the June issue of Excellence and now it is seen on the album artwork and I swear that is a 3.0 liter I heard revving between tracks 5 and 6! :D
The album is "Fresh Wine for the Horses". I have only been able to listen to the first half, but I am very impressed so far. Well worth the money.
Also cool to see in thank you's to Porsche and TRE Motorsports in the liner notes!
Yes it's an excellent CD! I had been waiting for this CD since Rob told me about it back at the R Gruppe Monterey 2005 event. Big fan of Catherine Wheel, Rob's car and now his solo work. Very cool that he thanks the R Gruppe!

Me too! And here I thought I was the ONLY RGRUPPER who was a Catherine Wheel Fan. The funny thing is, it took me about 2 years to put Rob and Catherine Wheel together - it was only AFTER the Excellence article that I said to Jennifer..."how the hell could I NOT KNOW this!" Rob played in Hollywood back in August. Too bad we missed his concert.
NEXT time he plays So. Cal., we ALL have to go and listen to him play.
Ray, Rob told me he was probably playing at the Troubador in West Hollywood sometime in October. I'll keep an eye out, and let you know!

The radio station Indie 103 has been playing one of Rob's songs on a regular basis lately. Monday, the 17th, he was in Hollywood for the Grand Opening of a Virgin Record Store.
