WTB: vintage Momo wheel
Hello all, I am looking for an excellent used or NOS ( if they are still around ? )
vintage Momo wheel ( not Prototipo ). I am hoping to find a nice:
Clay Regazzoni, Jackie Stewart or Ronnie Peterson wheel.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers !

Sorry to jump on your thread but you brought up the Jackie Stewart wheel. Any idea exactly when they were made. I have one in one of my cars and would really like to know. I do not see a date on the back as on a Prototipo. Thanks and good luck in your search.

No worries Don, I am no expert but would hazard a guess that they made the Jackie Stewart wheel ( mid to late 70's ) and I have absolutely no idea how long of a production run they have before retiring the wheel. HTH

Hi Joey,
you got any pictures of the wheels ?

Sorry no pics but going from pure memory which is not very reliable BUT I know the Jackie Stewart had solid spokes while the Regazzoni had the 2 or 3 holed spoke ( like the much loved Prototipo ) but with the leather tab @ 6 o' clock spoke. What other vintage ( aftermarket ) wheel will look good on our early 911 ? Please feel free to jump in.
Thanks,
Joey

This shot shows a few of the steering wheels that I've used on early 911's - the Momo 'Jackie Stewart' is top right:

Others are:
Top row left-to-right: Nardi
Bottom row left-to-right: early flat silver Prototipo/Mille Miglia 'Targa'/380mm Momo 'Monza' (my personal favourite).

Thanks Andy, what year did Momo produce the Monza wheel ? It looks absolutely stunning. A few other Momo period wheels I could think of are:
Jacky Ickx and Gilles Villenueve
Do you or anyone have pics of these wheels PLEASE !
Thanks,
Joey

Here's a photo of my Jackie Stewart Momo(sorry Joey, not for sale) and a closeup of the signature. Date on the back is 8/81. It's in awesome condition other than the signature has flaked off some. The grip size is perfect but the diameter makes it difficult to get a quick glance at some of the gauges.
I saw one recently on an early Esprit that was just like mine other than the signature and it was slightly dished. I couldn't quite make out the name though.

I also have that vintage Monza in my car, orig. and spectacular.
