Member age poll
I thought this was done before, but maybe it was over on Pelican. It was pondered on another thread what the ages of our readership is. This kind of demographic is both interesting and useful, so why not add your input? :)
Oh yeah, my car is 5 years my senior.

I am a 1977 model and the 911 is a 1968.

36 as of yesterday...where's the Rogain?
-
Tail end of the boomers, born in '59 so that puts me at 46 and climbing.:)
-
42 and locked in the holding pattern until I decide otherwise.:D

Born in 1961 and still living in the 60's. Forget the wonder years crap, the 60's was a huge decade: Think of the films, music and sportscars that came out of the 60's. And we went the moon too - with IBM magnetic tape mainframe computers no less....
-
Born in 1966....just turned 39 , but I still feel like 25, does that count?
-
Born mid 50s, which means I should probably be driving a nice 356 outlaw. Instead I drive a car I was passionate about when in high school, but was unfortunately out of the average high schooler's price range. And who ever said 'Some kids never grow up?" :D

The 30 year rule...
It has been said to me more than once that there is a "30 year rule". Goes something like this...as was quoted to me by a TYP901 member:
"The theory is that middle aged men pay big prices for the cars that were on their bedroom wall when they were teenage boys - the law of supply and demand kicks in and iconic cars like the RS get pushed up faster than the more accessible cars - this suggests that the next big movers in the Porsche world will be turbos (especially black red and white ones with hot women in leg warmers with big hair draped across the bonnet)"
Sound cynical? Maybe...think about it....
I don't fit the rule...I fit the generational brainwashing one :D ...you know, the one where whatever Dad did, you'll do too :p !
Oh and I am stuck on 40 forever more...
Cheers,
