Nice punt on the yellow car. He passed the leaders like they were standing still. Were they asleep or did he have a little something extra under the hood?

yes thats the great Bathurst road-race track. Its a real climb up the mountain (Mt Panorama) then a real roller coaster ride down thru teh esses and the dippers onto ConRod straight where the V8 Supercar boys top 300 kph.

Thay guy could really drive his Elise and no doubt took a deep breathe as he launched it down thru the Dipper and those downhill esses.

When there is no racing, this road is a tourist road you can drive around. Kinda a Downunder version of the "Ring" you could say.

I think it's been photoshopped. No way he could have passed the leaders that quickly.

there are any number of reasons why the fastest guy could have strated from teh rear of the grid. plus this guy had big ones heading into the Dipper as fast as he did relying on that little Elise's great handling to get him thru.

The guy knows his car, the track, and his abilities very very well....he was in the zone......it's ZEN

Years ago, when I got my SCCA Racing license they had two races on Sunday afternoon at the end of the two weekend race school. For the first race we were grided based on qualifiying times. We ran the race and then for the second race they inverted the grid based on how we finished in the first race. i.e., first place in race #1 was gridded last for race # 2. Last place was gridded first. This guy definitely knows how to drive, but it looks like an inverted grid to me...

If that was an inverted grid you'd think the back half of the field would have been more competitive.
Sometimes you feel like starting last.
This guy had most the field covered in half a lap.
With his speed his pole starting strategy would have been to just run at 8/10th keeping his cushion.
In amateur racing there is no cash purse for the winner so by starting last he added value with a more challenging and entertaining race.
Starting last can make for an impressive video too.
Great car control but he did seem a bit aggressive, trying to make a statement?
