Eric,
What makes it so different? The cross pole on the recliner mechanism in back?
Porsche Factory Sport Seats Only Have 1 Recliner On The Outside Of Each Seat..
That Is A Aftermarket Recaro For A Vw, Audi Or Anything Else Sold Through Dealerships..
Looks like someone has attached the seat hinges of a standard seat onto the backrest & base of a sports seat. ?????
Anyone?
I've seen a LOT of Recaro's, and have seen their old catalogs, this is nothing I've seen before. The recliner, 3 bolts, is the same as Porsche used on the sport seats starting in 1974, including the "rest" stop that the recliner sits on when in standard position. BMW used a similar (though not quite the same) recliner on their stock seats for a few years, but the seat was entirely different. BMW also used what we consider to be the 68' sport seat as an optional seat, but it has the same recliner we are used to seeing.Quote:

I agree with kiwi, looks like a sport seat put together with standard seat hardware.
Phil
Nope.... standard recliners are "flat" on the outer "face". These have the indentation on the area where the top screws go into, that's how sport seat hardware differs from standard seat hardware.Quote:
