Help with 1989 Speedster
I know this year of car is not what this forum is about, but there are too many bright Porsche minds out there for me not to see if someone can help.
One of the cables that supports the rear fiberglass cover snapped. There are two cables operated by seperate mechanisms. The one that broke is the cable that has the regular pull (t-type) handle, not the cable which is operated by use of a window crank style handle. I removed the cable and the plastic sheathing. It broke away at the t-handle and it in tact at the cable end. The end which attaches to the fiberglass cover is held in place with a flat head screw and has an O shape end which allows a flat heard screw to go through that and onto the mechanism.
I am looking for anyone that can provide assistance as to where a new one can be found (yes, I need alot of luck) or knows someone who can fabricate a new piece (probably, less luck required) Without this piece, I am concerned that the fiberglass top could blow up in the wind as it now lacks one of the locking mechanisms.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I looked the part up in PET and came up with 911.504.057.01. Pelican Parts shows to have it available here for $52.08. Or you could just order it from your local Porsche dealer.
