Weber Float Adjusting Shims

I have a float adjusting gauge that came with copper washers for adjusting the level. All four of my floats need to be adjusted up about 6mm or 1/4". There aren't enough washers with the kit to bring all the floats up to spec. I do have access to some stainless steel shims of the same size. Would there be a problem using the ss washers? I would have enough to do it with all ss.

Please give us more description of what you're trying to do. Are you speaking of the manometer gauge you screw in the float bowl? Are we talking 911 Webers here? Where are you trying to put all these washers? normally only one or two are needed under the needle valve. Whatever it is you're doing sounds terribly wrong.

I trying to adjust the Weber float level on my 67S. Using the float gauge, it is showing me the float level to be at the lower two lines. I'm trying to raise this to the upper two lines. According to the instructions, 1mm of shim will raise the fuel level 3mm. The distance between the lower and upper lines on the gauge are about 6mm or 1/4". So, I would then need about 2 mm of shims.

Maybe I should just bend the tab on the float slightly to get closer on the adjustment range.

If the carb is off the car adjust the float by bending the tab on the float the float gauge is to fine tune the level make sure your float isn't full of gas causing it to stay to low.
