Trying out some different heat ranges and spark plug brands. The DP3's are too cold, although they are the suggested one in the owners manual. Stock gap is .024. I know that cars running an MSD can run gaps up to .040. Can a stock CD box handle wider plug gaps - say a .032?

DP3's are FAR too cold for street use; thats for driving at WOT for periods of time. Use a Bosch 5 (or) 6 range plug or the equivalent NGK.
The Bosch CDI will reliably fire plug gaps up to .032 but I would not go beyond that unless you replace it with an MSD-6 of some kind.
MSD's (using the correct coil) will comfortably fire gaps to .075 but I use .040-.045 for best idle, drivability, and HP.
