Rear Wiper

I have a nice rear wiper assembly and I'm thinking about installing it either on my '67 Coupe or my '73 Targa. Few questions:

(1) Were they available as an option for all years and both Coupe and Targa models?

(2) Was the mounting bracket painted the same color as the engine lid?

(3) Is there pre-wiring for them?

(4) Anyone have a picture of the wiper motor assembly mounted to the inside of the engine lid?

Is the black switch the one that is used for the rear wiper?
Are these still sold new by porsche?
Is that a on/off switch or is it a two stage switch?
Can someone supply me with a wiring schema for 71 or 73 that heas the rear wiper wiring on it?

I already have the wipermotor/bracket and part of the wiring, but I'm still missing the "connecting tube", the wiper arm mounting piece that is mounted on the decklid, the wiper arm and the switch on the dash. If anyone has these lying around let me know.

Its the small black push/pull switch, its on/off. I have not seen it for sale on Ebay or anywhere else. Do someone know of a source?

If you look at this picture its a right side setup. Look closely at the setup and you will see there is an extra arm that goes to the right side of the lid.

Thats the setup they used for right hand drive cars. I have that piece with the 2 small arms, because my bracked came from the UK. Not going to use that, so if anyone is in need of the piece withthe 2 mall arm, let me know.

There is no pre-wiring for the wiper.. You need to find the harness that runs through the car and the all the other small items etc that you'll need along with it. Check the parts manual for ref.
BTW, I believe its no longer available at the dealer.

On cars with air conditioning, was there a different actuator rod used to clear the condenser unit? Or were these mutually exclusive options?

hi John;
it looks a LOT like a 50s period 356 wiper switch. (in this application, because the switch was visible on the dash, it had a nicer "bezel" - the small collar that tightens the switch in place) it seems to me that VWs also used something similar during that period to control accessory items. shouldn't be too hard to locate one.
