correct refinish on front hubs

I am in the process of cleaning up a set of spare front hubs with new bearings,studs etc. The machine shop I use had to soda blast them to get them prepped for refinish. Can these be painted or should they be cad,powderpaint or??? What would you guys use that will last, even if the method is not original.

POR makes a bare metal coating, and also a, high temp paint " Factory manifold grey"

I always have mine powder coated.
I havw been using Powder Tech Plus for close to 20 years. They started off as a Porsche repair & race shop, and after having some 356 engine tin ruined a few times (no one in the South East was doing Powder Coating then, everything had to be sent to CA.) they desided to add it to their services and it over took Call Richard (his 63 rag top beetle made the cover of Hot VWs a few years back) (904)269-1719.

origionally they were clear anodized

I am doing this EXACT same process now. Yes, it seems like originally they were clear adonized. To get a very similar finish, I first bead blast the hub, then scotchbrighted it, and now I am going to have my painter apply special clearcoat for bare aluminum.

In the past I have vapour blasted them first then bright anodised them.

Clear andozing is the answer. It is also the best solution, by far, for future longivety.
