Show me your MFI
I am in the middle of rebuilding my 71E engine. I need to see pix of your MFI engines. Detailed photos of pumps, stacks and throttle bodies appreciated. (show me those perfectly refurbed units.) I want this engine to be really nice, both mechanically and cosmetically. Before I head to the plater, painter, powder coater, etc.....I need inspiration.

Since you mentioned plating, I assume you're replating all the various linkage rods, be aware that the rods that actuate the throttle valves are aluminum, you'll need to remove all the ball sockets and nuts from those rods before plating them, those aluminum rods don't take too well to cad or zinc plating. For reassembly be sure you have 5 mm x .80 right hand and left hand taps and dies. You will need to prepare all the male and female threads after plating. Also use a little anti-seize on all the threads during reassembly, for ease of adjustment everything should turn freely.

I am in the same process, if you like I can send more pictures. The two first pictures are the MFI parts that I bought from Eric and he helped me having it restored at Supertec. The next pictures are from factory 2.4 brochures.

John and Chuck,
Nice examples....thanks for the detailed shots. I've saved them to my reference folder. The finish on the throttle bodies and mag stacks appears to be satin black or semi-gloss black. Is that correct???
Ed, thanks for the tip re: aluminum rods. i'll remember to anodize those.
