93 RS America
I have had this car for about 8 years now and its time to let her go. . I purchased it with 63,000 I have only put 15,000 miles on since purchase. In that time I have spent about $30,000 on modifications. My philosophy was simple; use only Porsche parts or OEM suppliers, to build as close as possible a Euro RS. What Porsche did to the Carrera RS, I did to my RS America. To those means I based all modifications on Porsche’s publication “guide to converting Carreras to cup cars”.
Modifications:
Interior:
Recarro RS Tri- color seats Black, grey, dark grey.
Recarro sliders
Sabelt harness
DAS RS roll bar Power coated red
Carrera RS Rear carpet
Suspension:
I obtained the factory NOS RS Billstein coil over suspension from one of the Carrera cup cars, from the canceled Carrera Cup USA. These were cup cars imported, then converted to street cars when the series was canceled. Parts alone $5,000.
Front and rear RS sway bars
Brakes:
Front RS two-piece rotors with Aluminum hats
Rear RS drilled rotors
Backing plates removed
Brake proportioning valve removed
Carbon fiber brake ducts
Wheels:
Look close those are Factory 8x17 and 9.5x17 “Cup Car” wheels, $4,000 If you can find them, Michelin sport pilot cup tires front 20 miles rear 2000 miles, that’s another $1,000
Exhaust: Cup bypass pipe
Drive train:
Cup clutch and fly wheel, about 6000 miles ago
Autothority RS chip with idle stabilizer valve.
Drilled air-box with K&N air filter
Carbon fiber hood
The best part is that it has just (less than 1000 miles) had a performance oriented top end rebuild. The heads have been completely rebuilt, with new intake and exhaust valves; new valve guides new springs and titanium retainers, the timing chain ramps were also replaced. The distributor belt was also replaced.
This is an ideal car as daily driver, and a weekend track car. Or as a PCA club racer. It has seen track time; it would be a waste if it hadn’t. I am a PCA drivers Ed instructor, and it was used for that purpose. I have never raced it, and never over revved it, or had any off-road excursions.
I am selling because I purchasing A very special vintage Porsche
