My brain is on fire... Too much to do and too little time to do it in.
Can y'all help me out with the correct digits on what the paint code plate is supposed to say?

The Glasurit code would be 6804 for Light Ivory (HELLELFENBEIN)
on an earlier thread it was stated
"that's the correct paint number:
8080 is for Coupe models
8010 is for Targa models
Up to '71 the plate on the driver's side hinge post shows the paint number & paint manufacturer - not the paint code."
and then Karim stated in answer to Roger Gargo's question "What is the difference between paint number and paint code?"
that Paternie's book stated "As of C-Series 1970, the factory changed to four digits, the last two digits for TARGAS end in "10".
-paint number (sometimes referred as paint code as well) is the number stamped on the metal plate on the chassis.
light ivory: 1110/1111, olive: 3910/3939, tangerine: 2310/2323
-paint code is the code of a color chart list.
light ivory: 131, olive: 414, tangerine: 018"
Stu:
My light yellow 72T plate has 117-9-1, and the 72 Kremer ST ReC has 415-9-2 (orig. Sepia). I think the silver 72S had a plate that was 936-9-2. The last digit indicates the paint manufacturer...1 Lesonal, 2 Glasurit...I think. Not sure what the 9 is for.
Gib
The correct form for the paint code on the badge from 1972 through 1983 is xxx-y-z where xxx is the paint number, y is the body manufacturer, and z is the paint supplier.
3 is for Herberts
So mine would be 131-9-2
131 = light ivory
9 = Porsche
2 = Glasurit
Right?!
Stu, the coachbuilder is Reutter. :)
Don't mess with me Jens! Are you still living in Stowe?
I think Lechler is the company that made Lesonol paint products, Herberts made Herbol paints, and Glasurit made Glasurit.
Yeah Stu, it's a good place to be.
