Casey,
Not enough numbers in the VIN in his ad.
Is it 300400 or 304000 ?
Big difference in value !
Just wondering.
Sure looks like a 901/05 motor in the back with the Solex pump blank still there, webers. Dash looks late too.
Big bumper conversion, blackout chrome, and SC flares. 1980s dream, 2000s nightmare. :D
I didn't study the photos, but the first thing that jumps out is that the air cleaner is definitely not from a 300400 chassis number car. It's probably really is a 1966 with chassis 30400X.

Used to haul the kids to the pool in 356/1500RS Carrera Speedster 80820. Wife would leave it in the shopping center parking lot -- now in the Porsche Factory Museum.
I talked to the guy who seemed pretty confused. He said it wasn't actually "400" but in the 400 range. He was going to call me back but never did. He said he had a German buyer that was going to take for $15,000 unseen who backed out, maybe 400's was 4000's. Looks like a 66" motor. No solexes and doesnt look like center lube cam feeders.
