No affiliation. 80k for a 912 with a 6?
Would that make it a 911 and a half? Or a 912-6 as they seem to call it.
Sure looks mean.

it looks like a toad.
Is the bling in the engine that cost that much...
This car had a nice article in the recent Panorama issue that covered the SLC Parade. Showed pictures of the owner (who still owns it AFAIK) with Ferry checking out the car at a Parade from the late sixties or early seventies.
I know even David was once just a small lad with a little sling before he was a King but unless Jesus himself did the build on this car I believe there are certain intrinsic qualifications that one looks for in a 6 cylinder collector car... primarily that it came with 6 cylinders.
THIS would certainly be a new high water mark for a 912-6.
If I remember correctly, there was a Burgundy 912 that was modified and converted to a six cylinder that was offered for sale on this board several (3 -5?) years ago that sold for somewhere in the same price neighborhood. This may not be a new high water mark, but it is certainly right up there. The workmanship on the Burgundy 912 looked like it was good and the overall build done to high standards.
If you were starting a similar build from scratch today, you may not spend as much money depending on your build sheet, but you would still be heavily invested into the project no matter what the serial number says the base car is. Not necessarily my cup of tea - but I am sure there is a buyer out there somewhere.
Run, don't walk. Franckenstein experiment gone awry...
Why oh why would you spend ALL that money on a 912 and not just start with a 911?? Fantastic project cars are still out there to be found. I guess I just don't get the green car. Even if he had started with a plain jane T the price would not seem so outrageous.
BTW at this price I would have expected the clock to be mounted in the correct position. Or maybe this setup makes the car go faster?? If so I should try that in my softie.....
