72 Color of Green

So my 72 is color code 225 which I find on some color sites as Emerald Green. However, others I have talked to have insisted this is Conda green which I find as color code 222 for a 71 but not listed for 72.

Can anyone give me any more insight to these colors and what the differences are?

I don't know the answer to your question. But if I were you, I would leverage what's on this forum. There are entire threads dedicated to color. One on greens alone.

The most recent issue of Esses has a pair of articles on early 911 colors that may help. Porsche number 222 is the code for Conda Green, which was used in 70 and 71. Code 225 indicates Emerald or Kelly or Viper Green and was used in 72-73. They both interesting shades of green, but easily distinguished. Take a look at The Definitive Color Thread on this forum to see cars of both colors. #225 is a sharper, deeper green, whereas #222 has a lighter more pastel tone. Of course, depending on what you don't know about your car, it could have been repainted in a variant of either color, which might confuse those trying to name it.

225 Viper green has more yellow in it; Conda Green has more blue in it. Chris
