Reliable battery charger/tender?

I'm looking to but a very reliable battery cahrger/tender that will last, know when to charge, perhaps cycle through draining and charging. Any suggestions? I read that the new Deltran Batter Tenders made in China are garbage, so that is off the table.

Over the last 15 years I've acquired 5 Deltran Battery Tender units and have never had a problem...

That said, there are many brands out there to choose from.

I recently purchased a Battery Tender and so (6months or so) it works great.

I've had "really" good luck with Jr.'s I have them on my vintage P-Cars and on my RV batteries for winter storage. The come with two type of connectors that you can plug into. Alligator clamps and hard wire. I have the plug hard wired on my batteries.

After loosing a couple Trojan T105's, I became acutely aware of battery maintenance. :(

I had looked at that one as well but splurged for the model just up from that. I was concerned that it would take a really long time to charge another car that wasn't being trickle charged.

Yeah... by nature, I use them when I don't really need them. If the car or the RV batteries (winter maintenance... they have solar to keep them charged on the RV) are going to be down for a couple of weeks I plug them in. By doing so, and keeping a gallon of distilled water on hand and checking levels monthly, the batteries will last a very long time.

I'm using a Battery Tender, and have had ZERO issues. It's been a great product, and would buy another in a heartbeat.

I've used "Battery Tender" on my cars for years. Never had an issue, even when I ran one over and it kept working. :-)

I have as well. Kept the OEM battery on my Harley going for 8 years!

The only thing you need to be mindful of is what kind of battery you have. If it's AGM, you can burn it out using a charger for the flooded lead acid batteries.
