I recently purchases a 71E coupe which according to the COA was built with the sport seat option. Question is, I have a set of 73 sport seats with the double lockers and would like to know, other than the slider, what the physical differences are between the seats. Car came to me with std seats.

71 Sport seats had perforated bolsters (Leather or Vinyl)
72/73 Sport seats had blank surface on bolsters.
Some seat inserts in 73 available did not came in 71.
IMHO if you go for a 100% period look, 73 Recaro Sport Seats in a 71 can look "wrong".

Headrest are also different, D shape on a 71 Peanut shape on the 73.
Double lockers are an improvement so no issue there but the seats were finished differently. If you get them redone then no issue.
Thanks guys, my seats will need recovered in the near future, so, perforated it is.

They went to double lockers for safety as the earlier seats could slide out during an accident.
