rear bumperette to body rubber

does anyone have any pics of how/what the small rubber seal looks like that goes between the chrome bumperettes and the rear license panel? I have some old rubber that is listed as this material, but not sure if it goes up and over on three sides, left, top and right side? Saw a post of Speedo's that looked like he cut the corners in order to bend the rubber. I will try to find the pic and steal it for posting purposes. Here is what the rubber I have looks like. Mine has one side that is larger than the other so not sure which side would be on the outside. This rubber is 20+yr old stock and says on bag that it is for 356 and early 911 bumperettes.

The beading only runs down the one edge that touches the rear licence panel.

The top and bottom edges don't actually touch the painted panel as they are held of by the mounting points.

And yes, large edge to the out side.

the moulding looks different to that shown in the parts manual. I recently bought some from International Mercantile that looks very similar to the drawing in the parts manual. It did not need cutting to go around the curve. It should be on both long edges, according to my interpretation of the drawing... sorry, I don't have a scanner at home to illustrate the manual...

Never seen it on both long edges.

It goes on the inner edge only (the side away from the bumper) and as Tony said the larger edge is visible after installation.

I see the picture in the parts catalog shows only the one strip so makes it much easier. Thanks everyone for the help.

PS, Lars you better fix that on your car. Wouldn't want to get concours points taken off ;)

Ouch.
I bought my replacement rubber from SMC who assured me it was correct. My bumperettes are installed and they look relatively correct. If I get points taken off in the concours it will be for the incorrect steel winding of the resistor in the cigarette lighter. Winding should be clockwise and mine is counter...don't tell anyone...shhhh.
