Agreed Bryce What a wonderful piece of history that Thomas has posted.
I think that the 639 9004 may be transcribed wrongly from 639 0004 as the sister car 119 300 932 (S M 2929) is recorded as having engine 639 0010
Thanks Thomas for posting this
Bryce
that reminds me that there are probably some things that i need to update in that thread when i get the time

Old Rallye 911
Hej Thomas, I had engine work done to my 73 911T last summer at Lindkoping motorsport. This old Rallye car was there having work done to it. Do you know the history of this car?

Yes the car is the one that Waldegard / Helmer started their careers in Porsche rally competitions , found the car in 1989 in pretty good condition but does not own it today. When the Porsche 911 was approved for rally January 1967, ordered two cars of Porsche importer (Scania -Vabis of Södertälje Sweden ) one for Bjorn Waldegard and the other car drove Ake Andersson throughout 1967 except the first race in the Swedish Rally ( Rally KAK ) February 1967. Both cars were ordered as rally cars from the factory. It also ordered the two cars with the same rally equipment from the factory as Bjorn Waldegard and Ake Andersson became the registered owner of probably an economic agreement. They used the cars in some rally competitions and training. A picture where both cars stands together in one parking is from England, where all four cars appeared in Gulf Rally in 1967. Waldegårds car is red and Ake Andersson's car Bahama yellow. Do not know if any other rally cars from the 1967 with rally equipped from the factory only 911S that ran in the rest of europe.

Have a binder full of clippings from Helmer / Waldegårds rallies, including English and French newspapers clippings. Borrowed it from Lars Helmer's family.

Wow, I'm amazed and thankful that you are able to share Mr. Helmer's personal archive with us. Wonderful stuff.
Any more photos of 2263 hiding in there?
