any BMW 2002 folks in here ?

As FIA have been kind enough to make most old homologation forms public here http://historicdb.fia.com you can find most '02 goodies described in a lot of detail. Including 4-valve heads and guillotine intakes....

I suppose today it's all about serviceability and endurance in historic racing but most are pushing over 200hp reliably from a 2-valve carbed M10. I've seen these guys run a few cars like that, and they do it very well! http://www.engels-rennsport.de/projekte.html Last time I was there they had just started another new build for stock. (yes shameless plug, meet them and you'll understand)

Hi today the top 2 liter 8 valve cars are north of 260hp but they might need a rebuild during the season

Yes I know, but was referring to FHR long distance cars. So 6hr "continuous use" power holding up all season playing with ST...

Uai, are these 260 hp carbs, or some type of fuel injection?

Hi Rick they do this with either 50 Webers or Kugelfischer MFI but the large pumps are scarce

Yes, that DED review is truly an epic piece. Nobody writes like that anymore. Right up there with the work of Yr. fthfl svrt, Henry Manney III.

I was surprised to hear him say he liked to hunt and defeat the "Porsche's". He must have been talking about 356's and 912's. Don't think a 02 could outrun a 911, if drivers were equal.
