Eric, that is one sweet 911.
Hi Eric,
Welcome to the board! This car is as nice in person as the photo. All of the details are done just right.
Nice owner too :)
Eric's Datsun 510 is just as cool and Eric built it himself. I think there are a few guys on this board with past 510 experience.
More photos please.
After years of checking out you site I finally bit the bullet and joined. Here's a look at my '73T after 24 years of ownership.
Nice machine :D
Another dose of gold....
After almost 6 years of longing for a set of deep 6's, I'm finally proud to show my 69t wearing them. They are fresh (amazing) from Harvey Weidman, after purchasing them from a fellow member. Im keeping the steelies for the track, even though they weigh a ton :). Tires are 185/65 & 205/60 Michelin f & r respectively.
Looking great as ever Matt!
Matt- love your car's stance and the deep sixes.
When I replaced my chrome steelies with deep sixes it transformed
the road feel. They weigh what, 7 lbs less each?
Great picture, car, color . . . just perfect. I noticed on your 69 the radio antenna is on the passenger fender while mine is on the drivers fender. Do you know when this change occured?
Very Nice.
A GREAT look'n car look'n even BETTER !!!!!!!! ........ ;)
Cheers Matt
Matt,
Every time I see you have posted something I immediately hit appropriate link in hopes of your imagery will fill my screen. You never disappoint!
Hey Ryan . . . thanks for that . . . I forget to consider that some cars are RHD. Matt has a good thing going there. And it's a 69!!!
no worries tom, us 69E owners have to stick together.
further to the aerial issue - the cars were delivered to australia arrived without a radio and then the dealers fitted them. i think matt's car came from the UK and they may have had a similar arrangement.
Matt, beautiful!
Thanks everyone for the kind words. My car seems to change its look every few months. Let's see what's next :).
The stance is more about function, my mechanic set up the heights for the track. If it looks right....
Ryan is correct, it is a UK delivered car, 1 of 50 or so T's delivered to Great Britain in 1969. The dash-top speaker is listed as an option so it possibly had a factory fitted radio. I have a Blaupunkt 'Frankfurt' in now, mated to the factory speaker.
The 205s are so good in that shot, and Harvey's wheels are always so right.
Nice work Matt, the red jack locator... Send me a high res copy of the second shot. I want to put it up on my shop Wall o' Fame (with your name on it). :D
My '68 912 with it's recently acquired deep sixes.
Must have raised the car's value by 25% ;)
Thanks Rich. They're 195/65's (Michelin Pilot Exalto).
Beautiful downtown Newark, New Jersey
Mark man, wow!

stunning 911 brian, just stunning!
WOW! Cool Car
We need more details, and more photos.:)
Thank you.
It's a Dawe-built 2.8L Twin-plug with PMOs running a G50 gearbox and 935 heim joint suspension.
A friend and professional automotive photographer took these form me 3 weeks ago. I am in the process of creating a website, specific to the car.
I had the opportunity to photograph my coupe from a new perspective after the 912 Registry Car Show that was one of the events of the 912 Registry Rendezvous in Morro Bay,CA.
Fun day driving through the twisties. :)

The RSR clone
Thanks for the comment Rich and John, I was umming and arrhing for months before I took the plunge, played around with strips of paper and worried about the colour. (looks whitish here but is mid grey in real life and changes with the light) In the end I decided I could always peel them off if I didn`t like them...... but I can`t see that happening any time soon. :)
So now I have a car with rakish stripes and blue paisley sport seats, that kind of thing can happen when you`re married to an interior designer.
Haven`t dared show her the pictures of the Janis Joplin 356.
Regards, Mike.
Mike
Silver strips look great with the blue - very, very, nice!
Liked the B&W composition of this shot
Paul, bring that car up to Stowe so we can see it up close. I'll buy lunch.:D
What an awesome shot Paul!

Love that color Hugh!
In progress, my son and I are making headway
Nice first post!! Welcome :)
Is this an import? Would be interesting to hear more about your car to compare with my own. It was imported to Japan at some point and I am now trying to trace the missing history. More difficult than here in the west. Let me know if you have any advice to give me. Have the impression that there is a lot of cars and interest in Japan. But few of them are here.
Regards, Radmund
Welcome to the board Frank... we'd love to hear and see more... :)
Your adventures have just begun........ ;)
Cheers
This car was originally delivered in Grosse Pointe, MI and Ivory was the factory color. A subsequent owner painted it dark grey and turned it into a full track car; it has a RennSportReunionI sticker on the lexan windshield. I purchased it in 2005 to use for DE and Club Racing as I felt a momentum car would be better for my driving as I was driving a 964 Turbo and later a '04 GT3 which was wildly fast but really allowed me to make mistakes and make up for it with the power and technology. That car rolled at Lime Rock courtesy of a dear friend and is now long gone. The photos make one cry! Simultaneously, I was transferred to Tokyo and work there for now; I keep the E in the USA. I managed to get it licensed and am slowly monkeying around with new color (hence the Gulf Orange) and making it more street comfortable (the Spaco race seats have to go; by the way what is the proper seat for an ST inspired car? ). The car weighs 2250 and was dyno'd at 200hp so once it gets on the cam in 3rd it goes nicely; it tops out at 125mph or there abouts; has upgraded brakes, fuel cell, welded cage etc. It needs some more detail clean up here and there but runs well and I drive it hard and don't really care about it being in pristine condition as it is a street Rat/Rod. My feeling is that if you can't take a car to the edge of a cliff, push it off and walk away without real regrets you can't drive it past 7/10ths.
The question about Japan is somewhat mysterious regarding cars. Most things in Japan are not what they seem and this is no different. I have looked at many 356 and early 911's and have not closed for three major reasons: 1. Unless you are truly fluent, you are not going to understand the history and really get the nuance of the discussion; 2. Prices are generally high and negotiation is not something the locals are very comfortable with - I have seen cars offered at high prices for many many months and the response is always, "the price is the price" and 3. Japan is a very very damp and humid country; especially the Tokyo area which is where the vast majority of collector cars reside. Rust can be a terrible problem with the early shells and unless you know the car has been stored properly it seems to me that you are buying trouble. If the car is right, it is going to be top dollar and then you have to ship it to USA or Europe so the numbers don't work. You might be able to find the service history for an early 911 if you are comfortable sending me the VIN. The dealers keep very good records and if it was serviced at Porsche they may still have the history. It would be pretty helpful to know where the car was purchased from but again, there are not too many Porsche dealers outside of the Tokyo area (which is quite large).
So in a nutshell, the easy thing in Japan to do is go local; I have a GTR there and honestly it is an amazing car. I probably would not want one back home but it runs with no problem in city traffic and on the mountain pay roads like the 'Toyo Tire Turnpike' there are very few who can keep up (including 911's and 360/430 Ferrari). But, the locals have amazing cars and Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, and Lambo are daily sights in Tokyo; I have never seen so many exotics driven regularly anywhere in the world. There is tremendous wealth there and the Japanese Mille Miglia turns out some Italian cars that I had only seen in books. Anyway, when the project E coupe is finished, I'll send along some more pix.
I have attache a GTR pix only for the hidden joke which this group will appreciate.
Hi Frank!
Nice detail on that car ;)
I agree 100% with your comments. Will send you a PM. No problem to give you VIN or whatever needed to find some leads. I´m very happy with my japanese car, but it has given me some headace. Just came home now from two hours in the garage :)
Excited with car back from bodyshop so have posted a few pics as it arrived on the drive. As discussed here some time back this is a 356 paint colour , code 5707 , aquamarine.
I have to also mention that I have just had first drive with the elephant & tarrett suspension pieces fitted and its incredible how it feels.
Paul
I love that color.
Flo, Jack's cousin, is back from painting and on the road again. We just took a quick run up Hwy 49 & 140 to celebrate. She still needs a bit of detailing, but it was nice to blow the cobwebs out after 10 months off the highway.
Not a barn find, but a garage find. Stored the last 15+ years with great paint and rock hard window rubber. Original motor that needed clean up and......
I'm keeping all the original stuff but with great help from members of the Early S site, I've added seats, engine tin etc.
Here is my 1977 911S witha 6 stack of webers on a 2.2 totally rebuilt and 5spd sunroof delete factory AC car with a newer Speed Yellow Paint.
Well, here she is. After seven months in the paint shop and taken completely down to her unmolested, original underclothes, my Metallic Blue 71 is back on the road again. Vintage Car Works of Englewood, CO did the fantastic work that you see that has gotten many compliments by people who know a great deal more about good paint and prep than I do. The good news is that after all the old paint was gone, I was left with original panels in mint, no-accident condition, no previous body work and no rust problems according to Dave at Vintage. These guys obviously do excellent paint work but they are also the ones that fought with the new sport seats to get them to work. I still have a few weeks of good driving weather in Colorado to enjoy this 40k mile original gem before the snows start falling in the mountains. Is it possible that new paint makes a car drive better?
Jason
Car looks great. You must be pleased to have her back. Mine spent a year on jig / welding / chassis and it was hard everytime the sun shone here (which isnt that often!)
Got to drive by the sea today with kids after school so thought Id add a few pics too

And thanks.
Beautiful car and photograph jaldeguer. Hope you don't mind my meddling fingers with the photoshop tone job.:)
Not at all Mark. Looks even better! Thanks.

GLED, nice collection, attractive colors and looks to be what I'd like to accomplish - what I refer to as Mild, Hot, and Extra Spicy.

I am the new owner of this '73 911s. I love all ealy 911s but this one -imho- stood out for its originality.
I was killing (wasting?) some time clicking through this 'Show Your Ride' thread and found that Todd, the previous owner, already posted pictures (twertman1, on page 127). In order to add something new, I threw in a picture of the company my new-to-me S will be keeping.
Here's the newest shot :)
Here is my 912...still some detail work needed on the rockers and underneath...it never ends!
Mike
Here's my 69 E. Color is Bahama Yellow. Front S spoiler (fiberglass) is obviously not original/correct, nor the 7x15 Fuchs. The car has its original engine and trans and is still fitted with its MFI (just rebuilt by Gus). Thinking about putting in a correct stock steel bumper and some deep 6's (maybe keeping the rear 7's and going with 6's in the front), although if I do say so it looks sorta cool and tough as is. Thoughts about the bumper/wheel situation would be appreciated.
It didn't start out that way but now, I've grown to like the looks of the spoilered front apron. Adds some visual weight to the front, plus, it's supposed to improve the car's stability. I think it looks good on your car.
I also noticed that you've mounted an old California 'black plate' on your car. You do know that a 'C' series plate would probably only have been issued to a car built in 1963 or earlier, right? By '69, only ~W and higher would've been issued.
Pretty car.
Rick
Rick,
I actually didn't know that about the C plates. I was told the DMV based the year eligibility off of the sticker. But then again, the guy who sold me the plates told me that... I'll find out shortly, since registration of the plates is pending.
Here are a couple pics of my '72T Targa.
I bought the car in May of this year thinking I would do a gradual ("rolling") restoration. Five months and a lot of $$ later, the car is looking and driving great!
Here's my 70 T. Color is Conda Green (original color). The car has its original engine and trans and is going to fit with a Fuchs exhaust, like the 911 prototyps.
Pictures of restoration and the actual situation. It will also get original 906 seats.
Maybe somebody can helpme to get a bit more information about the history of the car. I bought it 2007 from Victorymotorcars in Houston, it was grenn with beige interior.
Greetings Dino
more images.
That looks great, is that lower dash stitched leather?
Yes we also changed the color of the head liner from white to black and all the interior parts will be in leather.
Here is my new ride, #815
Hi everybody!
My name's Rainer and i live in the south of germany (about 20 km away from RUF) and just joined the club:D
Below there're two pictures (before and after) of my "sport purpose" '71 targa. Not an "S" - but certainly on the way.......
Rainer
Willkommen,.......ein ganz tolles Prachtstueck !

It's been a few years since these stablemates have been together. Thought I'd post one since the SC is home after a respray.
I need to take some good photos of my car, seems like since I've gotten it all I do is drive it instead.:D But one of the guys at the HSR Winterfest asked to park our cars together and the cameras started clicking. From everyone that walked by. 1000lbs heavier, 2.2 times the HP, 3X the price (adjusted for inflation). Interesting comparison, no?
Thought this would be a good place to start -
Sort of a where I have been and where I'm headed -
G -
PS - the E is completely devoid of paint at this point
Hey jzajfen
Nice car. Great color. The wheels look great. Here's what the stock bumper and deep sixes would look like. This was my '69S. I sold it last spring. I miss it.
A.T.
well I don't know what I would have sold.....everthing looks top notch .
Congrats G.
G...wow a Lotus 26R...I run against those with my GT...they kick my butt!:)
John
Nice Porsche, but drooling over the 26R and trying to fathom selling one to fund a Porsche. I love my Porsches, but have always regretted not buying a very good 26R when one dropped in my lap a decade ago. To drive one is to know. You sir, have my admiration AND envy.
Russ, John and Stefan - Thanks for the kind words - On my recent grooming of the cars I choose to spend time with... with the exception of the 912 ( calm down 902 fans they are a good car, but...) , some hard decisions to make.
A 60's lotus is a wonderful thing provided careful preparation and attention to detail is given. I think you can say the same thing about the early 70's 911. I would say the choices are analogous to swords - one's a rapier the other a saber. There are advantages and disadvantages to each -
I have a long road ahead of me with the 71E - I'm glad to have the discovered the forum and will be tapping the knowledge base as I resurrect it - it's final configuration has not been determined - so looking for Ideas and advice on how best to proceed -
Regards
George

Lusted after this car ever since I saw it in Excellence.
Spring is almost here in New York. It's time to start thinking about going for a ride.
Beautiful car, and great shots Perry....... :)
Beautiful car Perry. Where were the shots taken? We'll have to organize something soon. Bunch of us are heading to Hershey for the swap meet, on Friday the 23rd, by the way.
Finally gathered a spare $20 to buy my New Year's Day portrait (unfunded startups are a bitch).
Paul's a good guy. If you buy regularly, he will cut you deals.
Nice shot. :)

Way cool, Rob. My '64 Deluxe is a daily driver too. :D
The '67 is being freshened up for the Spring Thaw up in British Columbia. Almost done, it ships in a day or two... the event is April 30-May 3. BC roads are fantastic, the organizers are great, and the 59 other cars include a few Porsches but run the gamut from old Beetles to Volvos. Gonna be fun, we're really looking forward to the adventure.
Yesterday was a beautiful day in N Texas. I just had 15x7 wheels mounted for the rear, so I went for a drive. Stopped to take a few photos.
I still have a few things to do on the interior before the Hill Country Ralley (seats, carpet, steering wheel.......sigh)
Looks great!

Always evolving... but getting closer to complete; okay who am I kidding :o
Whoa.........that looks nice!

EA911, I'm very much feeling your car - wheels, ride height, the whole package - as we seem to be on parallel paths with our respective cars.
Girt, glad to see you here. Our small band of Delaware Valley early 911 folks are starting to develop a presence.

Best of Luck
we are panning to bring both, grey (to be raced) and le voiture bleu (to show):D,
Still has a tons of work to bring back to her age. Front-Rear Bumper, Front fender, Rear fender are on the way to my home
However still looking for a lot of stuffs, if anyone want to let anything for RHD 1969 911S go, please don't hesitate to let me know :)
:eek::eek: What happened to that S ????.....
Looks like quite a project. Best of luck! Where are you located (I couldn't make out the license plate)? It's amazing how global this board is...
This 69 S had been modified to 993 Turbo Look very long time ago (Probably more than 10 years). At that time I believed it was a trend for insufficient budget people to own a new car like 993 Turbo, So they just go thought early 911 or SC, then make it over to 993 Look
Sawadee krub nammon!
good luck on your project if i could help please let me know :)
I did a shake down run on my car last night, still a few bit and pieces to put together, some tweaking but over all i am very happy. :D
Yhome P'Tenn ,As I am still being a monk, so I have to call you this to make my monk status and 227 Canon perfectly :). However I still have a little time sneaking out on internet :) I am sure will need your advice and help krub. Right now, my Yhome brother (who a friend of B) just let me know that all the body part already arrived Bangkok Port and waiting for the shipping company to delivery them to my place, once he get all the stuff, I am sure he will give you and Yhome P'Burint a call to make a project moving forward......For myself still have to be quite as a monk for such a certain time.....(Probably 2 more months) :)
Btw, your little bastard look very great krub

A mate took this at the track last weekend. I like the No Parking sign (and didn't even know I had parked in front of it)
73S Targa with 3.9 motor, 363 HP, with 304 Ft. Lbs. Torque:D
After the RSR look, I thougth going more stealth would be more fun. Also, now the wife will go on trips, as we can put stuff in front, (no fuel cell), and we can put stuff in the back, (no roll bar). Also went with stock Bilsteins, so the ride is much better than with the coil overs:)
Put on 6x16 wheels that Harvey painted to look like 15". Running a 205 on the front, and a 225 on the rear, the new Bridgestone RE 11.
Yep, it goes like the dickens, and it is really fun to drive.
The car came with a matching number 2.4S motor and sportomatic trans. I put both of them on a pallet, and I figured if and when I get to old to shift, I will put them back in.
Another one Ryan. Sorry about the bin, I have no photoshop skill...
Finally Eade........... been waiting for a picture....very stealth..
Extremely wicked Eade...after my own heart with the 'brutal stealth' theme. The 16x6 look amazing, something I'd never believed I'd say. Are they true 16x6 front and rear or did Harvey do a little 7R magic to the offset on the rears?
Official RGruppe Poster Child :D
Very nice Eade.
almost road worthy!
Just after sunrise at the Westport River, Westport, Ma. The light was unreal and the river as calm as it could be.
beautiful shot, Paul! Is she ready for the rally?
Eric,
At the shop right now sorting out a few changes, pick the Wench up Tues.
Just bought this 1970 911e last week and drove it from Denver to Louisville.
Ran like a champ, had the time of my life!
Thanks all!
Bud
My 911e is a 1970 not 1979
Nice looking car, Bud... see you caught the typo!
Meant to post this earlier, we took the '67 to British Columbia for the Spring Thaw:
http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/a...ure2010223.jpg
Day three was a spectacular but cold drive: oil never exceeded 90 degrees.
Mr. Albert Blue, acting out, a little.
Love that Albert Blue, thats whats under my metalic blue Maaco paint job. Some day it will resurface.
Bud
Hi Everyone,
I have been a visitor here for a while but only recently registered on the board. So here is my car, a completely restored '71 2.2S with subtle mods.
Some of you will recognise it (Chuck), the numberplate is a clue.
I am located in Weissach, Germany and the shot is taken in front of the control tower from the former Solitude race circuit near Stuttgart.
Tony
Nice car - those tinted windows look great.
Do you know Herr Thorsten Klein?
Tony
How many others are there in town?
Yes, I know Torsten very well. We not only work together but are the nucleus of a small group who occationally meet and do road trips together.
Here is a shot from last year in the Alps with an interloping 914 in the middle.
The 914 and the green short wheelbase (you can see it's tail on the right) belong to the Kraemer family who did my car. Thorsten's is there in the background.
With this winter's engine mods (see Satanic Details) I hope I can keep up with Torsten's Hot Rod this year.

Very nice Tony.:)
Cool to hear about guys at Porsche who are passionate about early 911s and also drive them.
Tell me about the Jade Green RS in the group. Very unique color. There was one for sale at Essen but I doubt these are the same cars. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome Tony.......
I do believe you own the ex Freeman Thomas/Mike Messcaro/Frank Saucedo drop dead gorgeous '71S....... :)
Looks like a nice group of friends you're hang'n with........ ;)
Went back to the original chrome trims, still wearing newer model wheels with painted centers (polished paddles are on Marco's 914-6 with flat spotted winter rubber). The Blaupunkt works and the long lost tape is playing 80's rock. Courted my wife to that soundtrack.
Car purrs like a kitten and goes like stink-Thank you Tony and Marco!!!!
Hi Chuck,
nope, that's not the one but you are getting close. I'll give you one more try.
Tony
Hi Brian,
the car is a '73 RS Touring in Light Green with a Tan interior. There were only 6 made in this combination. I will try and get the owner to come up with some details.
Tony
Ooops,
Sorry Tony,
