Haasman, well actually there is a note from Peter Falk that they used a tried and true method for helmet to helmet communication - A plastic tube. No electronics, nothing to break.
A carry over from early aviation, and deck to deck on big boats.. smart guys.
The story goes - that even after giving their set of studded snow tires to the 904 (team effort) in the worst and snowiest Monty on record these two guys were able to keep on pace because of another simple device - a hand held compass. And really good pace notes. Herbert Linge has not been given enough credit for setting the standard for rally notes.

Saw this wheel finish on a 911 at RR V a couple of weeks ago - no idea whose car, nor who did the wheels or if that's a fairly common finish for Fuchs wheels………I'm referring to the black webs at the lugnuts, between the petals. Never saw wheel treatment like that before, but really like it.
