We are excited to offer this very desirable and collectible 2.4L 911 Coupe. Verified by Porsche's Certificate of Authenticity, the car was originally outfitted in Light Yellow (62) paint over Black Leatherette (12) upholstery. It is believed this car received its "Carrera" style conversion sometime during the 1980's, while portions of the original paint can be seen in areas such as the undercarriage and front/rear compartments. Most importantly the 911 retains its original MFI motor and factory transmission. After years of long-term storage, the engine turns freely, but we have made no attempts to start the vehicle. This coupe serves as an excellent entry into classic Porsche ownership and offers great potential for someone looking to restore to original or outlaw for fun.

This superb matching numbers 911 Coupe we are offering was part of the collection of world famous Porsche guru Magnus Walker and has just had a restoration which was completed in 2015. It was delivered new to California in May 1973 and later formed part of Magnus Walker`s collection of Porsche 911`s for several years. The car is now registered with Dutch classic plates but also has its original US number plates, which are available. The has been further enhanced with a limited edition MOMO steering wheel by Magnus Walker and the car was extensively featured in the Dutch magazine “Puur Porsche” published in October 2015.
The car is finished in its original livery of viper green with black interior and Fuchs wheels.

This particular 911 Porsche is an exquisite, preservation-grade, one-owner time capsule, worthy of the discerning collector’s eye. Save for the engine cover and right door, which may have possibly been repainted early in the car’s life (and have paint meter readings of 7.5 and 9.5), it is a genuine original paint example throughout, verified with a paint meter which shows readings of 3.5-5.5 across all other panels. Having spent its entire life in the dry climate of Northern California, it has never been subjected to any rust, damage, or related repairs. It retains its matching numbers engine and transaxle, along with its books, tools, and service records back to new. It was optioned new with factory air conditioning, lightweight alloy 6X15 wheels, tinted glass, and a Blaupunkt radio with retractable antenna and speakers.
Sold new by Martin-Johnson Porsche-Audi in Oakland, California on April 22nd 1971 to Mr. Roland Davies of 1447 Park Avenue, Emeryville, California, just a few hundred feet from the front door of Fantasy Junction…! Service stamps in the book indicate that it was serviced by the selling dealer at 681 miles in April of 1971, 5,700 miles in July of 1971, at 12,063 miles in December of 1971, at 18,520 in August of 1972, at 24,772 miles in August of 1973, and finally at 29,003 miles in October of 1974.
Copious documents on file (1973-2015) demonstrate regular maintenance throughout the years, and a few very minor changes such as the 1974 installation of an aftermarket rear sway bar. In 1984 records indicate that it was fitted with updated cam chain tensioners and idler arms, and the front ride height was lowered ¾ of an inch. From sitting, the clutch required replacement in 2015.
Today, just 50,640 miles have been logged from new, making this one of the lowest mileage 911s available from what is arguably the golden era for Porsches now famous 911 model.
The presentation is that of a stunningly original example, which is crisp enough to pass as a restored car to most casual passerbys. The paint is in beautiful condition throughout, without significant flaw on any of the body or opening panels. The car sits on beautiful Fuchs wheels, shod with Goodyear tires.
As is the case with the exterior, the interior is also in wonderful original condition, including the floor mats, carpet, seat and door panel upholstery, headliner, and mint dash pad.
Save for an updated A/C compressor to improve functionality, the engine bay and undercarriage are both factory original and in impeccable condition.
As would need to be the case to be considered by the diehard collector, this wonderful 911 is exceedingly complete. It is accompanied by a mint manual pack including antenna keys in their original plastic holder, radio manual, service and warranty books, and owner’s manual. Other original period factory documentation includes an Accessories brochure, Porsche Family Tree, two versions of Porsche: A Love Story, and a 1971 Porsche factory color card, the ski rack brochure, among other period sales literature. Even the original window sticker and sales invoice are present.
This is an unrepeatable purchase- a car worth reaching for. The preservation-minded Porsche custodian will look long and hard to find a car equaling this level of completeness and originality.
