Indeed. Like you, I live in Western Oregon. The car won't melt immediately, and it gets a nice warm, dry garage to air dry in.
What a great thread. Thank you! Very impressed by your persistence Arne and also by everyone’s contributions and expertise. Amazing.
A major disturbance, but one hek of a nice casting..

Wrong diagram in question below.
Glad you got it sorted out.

And what is wrong about that diagram?
Not if you follow the cast directional arrows on the housing.
Hi Ed,
The illustration shows inlet from electrical pump at 9 o'clock
the return line to tank at 6 o'clock
the inlet from the MFI pump at 3 o'clock
Mark shows inlet from electric pump at 3 o'clock
inlet from MFI pump at 9 o'clock
Which is correct?
The thing is, both the inlet from the fuel pump and the return from the injection pump have the exact same inbound arrows cast. But they are NOT interchangeable! When the console is mounted in the car, the one facing toward the front of the car is the fuel pump inlet, and the one facing the rear is the return from the MFI pump.
Exactly,,,,"when mounted in the car" which is of course how you would do it.
